Receiving Clerk Job Available in Phoenix Arizona

Summary:

Responsible for receiving regular shipments of inventory into the ERP system from extrenal suppliers and third party offsite warehouse. The Receiving Clerk will be responsible for unloading and inspecting delivered goods to ensure that all products ordered via purchased order or transfer request are actually received and match what is on the packing slip. The Receiving Clerk will also report any missed match paper work, shortages and damages that may occur during shipment to their manager or directly to the buyer. Forklift certification is beneficial for unloading large shipments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily.

– Unload and unpack shipments of products

– Inspect shipments for damage and correct quantities

– Report damages or shortages to the appropriate person

– Match shipments to their associated purchase orders and enter receiving data on paperwork.

– Record receiving data in ERP system

– Prepare and organize received stock for inventory

– Return damaged products to senders

– Put away received inventory

– Prepare and load inventory transfer to the offsite warehouse.

– Maintain a clean and organized warehouse in accordance with 6S principles

– Conform with the organizations ISO 9001 & 14001 requirements

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position does not have supervisory responsibility.

Qualifications:

– Experience in operating forklifts for unloading large shipments

Language Ability:

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English. Ability to write simple correspondence in English. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customer, clients, and employees of the organization.

Mathematical Ability:

Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Additional ability to compute rate, ration, and percent helpful. Ability to perform such operations using United States weight, measurement, volume and distance.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills:

Ability to use a computer and be functional in word processing, spreadsheets, emails, and inventory control software.

Physical Demands:

While performing the functions of this position, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, stoop and kneel; use hands, reach with hands and arms; communicate clearly and effectively. The employee is required to lift 35 pounds.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is occasionally required to work near moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, in outdoor weather conditions and with risk of electric shock.

Education and/or Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Use power assisted material movers such as pallet jacks, as well as hand trucks

Two to four years experience in a receiving/shipping position or warehouse position with inventory control experience preferably in a manufacturing environment.
