Construction Engineering I

Position Summary

The Construction Engineering (CE) I is an entry-level role on the CE team. After a project has been reviewed & moved to complete, there are a number of loose ends that can prevent forward movement with accurate information. The CE I will follow up diligently with Project Managers, Dealers, internal departments, and subcontractors to add accurate information to the SOW and plans. Most will come from DCR’s or SOW revision requests. The CE I works closely with the other Construction Engineering team members to improve his or her own knowledge in Solar Construction & design, with the goal of moving into the Construction Engineering II role.

Job Duties/ Responsibilities

• Demonstrate basic knowledge of solar construction including roofing, electrical
• Excel at problem-solving and identifying solutions to create buildable jobs for all branches
• Create RFQ’s for Project Managers to request quotes from Subcontractors
• Be comfortable completing research online and via phone for solar projects
• Coordinate with Headquarters & Branch departments on a daily basis
• Identify and compile issues with respect to significant matters and present them to Lead in an articulated manner for resolution
• Work closely with the CE Team to resolve issues on projects and keep the pipeline flowing for all branch offices
• Act as the main point of contact for the regional CE Team to assist with improved project timelines

• Complete all assigned Edd app courses

• Other duties as assigned

Qualification Requirements:

• Must have a basic knowledge of how to interpret blueprints and other project documents, including but not limited to, specifications, reporting, and quality requirements
• Must know how to handle problems quickly and efficiently
• Must be very organized and have great communication skills.
• Ability to demonstrate computer skills
• 1+ Years in Construction / Solar with an emphasis on solar installation
• Demonstrated ability to solve basic electrical and construction issues

Pay: $20-$22/hr
