Instructional Assistant - Special Job Available in Phoenix Arizona

AtWork is seeking a compassionate Instructional Assistant to support students with special needs in the classroom. This role assists teachers with instruction, behavior support, assisting in the supervision, care and instruction of special needs students in the regular classroom, a self-contained classroom and/or with an individual student; assisting in implementing plans for instruction; monitoring student behavior during non-classroom time; and providing information to appropriate school personnel.

Responsibilities:

• Support teachers with lessons, classroom activities, and student supervision

• Assist students with academics, behavior plans, and personal care needs

• Communicate with teachers and staff to support IEP goals

• Maintain a positive, inclusive environment for all students

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED and one of the following:

  • 60+ college credit hours, OR

  • Associate degree, OR

  • Passing score on the ParaPro Assessment

• Experience with special education or student support preferred
