HIRING PRODUCTION ASSOCIATES

The Production Associate position is an entry-level position within the manufacturing area, primarily responsible for performing weigh-up or packaging duties within the production department. Ensures the highest quality product at the lowest possible cost and meets customer specifications and delivery requirements.

Schedule:   1st shift:      Mon – Thurs 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM ( Must have flexibility) +OT
                    2nd Shift:      Mon – Thurs 4:00 PM – 2:30 AM  ( Must have flexibility) +OT
Location:    West Phoenix AZ
Pay rate:   $15 – $15.75

Production Associate Responsibilities:

Get job assignments from the production board and collect batch tickets.
Collect ingredients from the allocation for the orders.
Put dry ingredients into the tumbler to semi-mix color, and then transfer material to the manual mixer so the material is completely dispersed together. Or mix liquid color for the prescribed time until the batch is completely mixed.
Provide a sample and the batch ticket to quality control.
Make any corrections and remix if deemed so by quality control.
For dry color: Make labels for the order with the proper lot number and color information and apply to bags and packing boxes, put the product in bags to required weight, remove air from bags and seal bags with a heat sealer and package all bags in Labeled Ziploc bags and pack them into shipping boxes, secure them and place on the pallet for shipping.
For liquid color: Make labels for the order with the proper lot number and color information and apply to bottles and packing boxes, put the product in bottles to required weight, put caps on bottles ensuring they are tight and secure, apply QC sticker over the cap to ensure warranty protection and package all bottles in boxes, secure them and place on the pallet for shipping.
Ensure all paperwork is complete before moving the order to ship.
Move completed orders to the assigned areas for shipping.
Maintain a safe and clean workspace.
Must adhere to all safety policies and wear personal protective equipment.
Any other duties as assigned.

Special Requirements:

Nice to have a forklift experience.
Subject to pre-employment drug screen/BG
Flexibility in shifts is a plus.
Bilingual nice to have, but not required.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to:
Marked changes in temperature and humidity.
Dust, fumes, and/or airborne particles.
Moving mechanical parts and vibration.
The noise level in the work environment can be loud.

Be aware that in this position you will be working with powdered colorants and more times than not, you will be grimy and dirty at the end of the day.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to see, talk and hear.
This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds.
Be able to lift, push or pull up to 200 lbs. with the aid of equipment.
Be able to communicate orally and in writing.
The employee must be able to read at a level of comprehension sufficient to meet job requirements.

Qualifications

Must be at least 18 years of age
Strong customer service and communication skills required
Ability to work a flexible work schedule including nights, weekends and holidays
Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull a minimum of 50 pounds required
Ability to unload freight, to move product on and off of store shelves, to walk, stand, bend, stoop, or kneel for long periods of time, and to move freely throughout store on a continual basis required
Basic English literacy and math skills required
