 Accounts Payable Specialist – $52,000 – 2 Years Solid Experience
Looking for an enthusiastic, self driven Accounts Payable Specialist to join their Accounting Department. This role will report to the Accounts Payable Supervisor and will be responsible for processing invoices, verifying financial data, clarifying questionable invoice items, prices, etc., and obtaining or providing other information and data as needed. Additionally, there will be a small amount of receivable work however experience with A/R is not necessary, as the main function of this role is Payables.

Compensation: $52,000 plus generous benefits and the opportunity for significant growth in the organization

Essential Responsibilities:

• Review all invoices for appropriate documentation, tax calculation and approval timely and accurately prior to payment.
• Codes invoices, expense reports, check requests, etc., with correct codes conforming to standard procedures to ensure proper entry into the financial system.
• Ensure transactions are recorded in accordance with GAAP, and provide support during the financial audit.
• Investigates and resolves problems associated with processing of invoices and purchase orders.
• Follows up on approval of all paper based and electronic open invoices to be paid in a timely manner.
• Process payment requests: cash, check, etc. in a timely, accurate manner.
• Reconcile vendor statements, research and correct discrepancies.
• Respond to vendor inquires in a professional manner.
• Set up new vendor accounts, identify new, disadvantaged and 1099 vendors.
• Assists with monthly status reports, and monthly closings.
• Maintain records thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices

Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years Accounts Payable Experience.
• Associates Degree Preferred
