Quality Manager

The Quality Manager is to assure the Quality Management (QMS) is functioning per the applicable registration standard (i.e. ISO9001:2015, etc.) and that the QMS is providing useful information to the organization in support of good business practice and continuous improvement. To develop process control systems, and facilitate, the organization in the creation of control systems for both administrative, and manufacturing, processes. In addition, the Quality Manager is to provide support to customers, and Sales, to assure continuous communication and customer satisfaction is being maintained.

 ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Report to top management on the performance of the quality management system, related company metrics, and any needs fo improvement.
• Serve as the ISO management representative for ISO 9001 and for the manufacturing operation. Develop and implement systems, procedures, and work instructions to support the Company Management System and other systematic processes.
• Coordinate and ensure the administration of all aspects of the Quality programs for the operation including production support, inspection, deviation process, calibration, and warranty returns.
• Responsible for establishing policies and procedures to ensure that product quality will meet and/or exceed internal and external customer needs and expectations, while achieving operational excellence and variation reductions.
• Manage the activities of all members of the Quality department providing training, assistance and backup as necessary for the following: Corrective action investigations and reporting for both customer complaints and supplier issues. Inspection activities, including first article reports and PPAP. Return material authorizations (RMAs) and warranty processing. Evaluation and disposition of non-conforming material rejections. Initiating and implementing change requests for applicable process and documentation updates.
• Interface with Supply Chain on supplier evaluation/qualification activities, including audits.
• Responsible to ensure that customer requirements are addressed through participation in APQP and other new product development related activities, including the selection of special characteristics, setting quality objectives and related training, corrective and preventive actions, product design and development.
• Analyze reports and data in support of in-house process improvements, corrections, and corrective actions as a means of continual improvement.
• Champion the training, implementation, and use of Quality tools (i.e. Statistical Process Control, Affinity and Fishbone diagrams, etc.)
• CAPA (Corrective Action and Preventive Action) Committee (Chair).
• Organize and maintain the Internal Audit process, including the selection and training of auditors.
• Facilitate meetings and lead the efforts for the Quality Department’s Lean Daily Management System (LDMS).
• Interface directly, and conduct technical conversations with both customers and suppliers on quality related issues including reporting, problem analysis and system audits.
• Maintain frequent contact with employees and departments by being visible and available. Encourage team player attitudes.
• Drive layered audit program.
• Chair management review process.
• Promote safety and drive participation in safety program. Other duties as assigned
