Instructional Assistant – Special Education – $16.66 – 17.16

• Support and reinforce classroom instruction by adapting activities and materials under the direction of the supervising teacher.

• Administer and oversee tests, homework, and makeup assignments to assist in academic progress monitoring.

• Provide personal care and assistance to medically fragile or developmentally delayed students, including feeding, toileting, and specialized healthcare tasks (e.g., tube feeding, colostomy care).

• Attend training sessions and meetings to stay current on procedures such as CPR, first aid, and emergency protocols.

• Communicate with teachers, support staff, and parents to support student development and help implement Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals.

• Escort students safely between locations on campus (e.g., classrooms, restrooms, cafeteria).

• Implement behavior intervention plans under teacher supervision, reinforcing positive behaviors and learning objectives.

• De-escalate conflicts using appropriate behavioral and therapeutic techniques to ensure a safe learning environment.

• Maintain accurate instructional records and documentation to meet compliance and support learning goals.

• Model appropriate behavior and social skills in a respectful, culturally sensitive manner.

• Supervise students throughout the school day in diverse settings, ensuring safety and structure.

• Perform clerical tasks including copying, data entry, and filing to support daily classroom operations.
